I just finished this a second ago. :) Rapunzel is my favorite Disney princess. I so want her hair! Hahaha!

Elsa...only young
It's been a really long time since I posted, and that's mostly because it's been a really long time since I've done any art. So after I finished this picture yesterday, I HAD to post it.

Olaf!
Hi girls!
Here's another sibling drawing! Alaina drew this montage of Olaf that I decided to share. It was too cute. And I'm always amazed at what my siblings can draw at such a young age! Alaina will be 9 in December.

Averie
Hi girls!
Bethany drew this picture of an archer named Averie that I had to share. I thought it was really good! Better than I could do and she's only eleven!!!

Cinderella arriving at the ball
I drew this picture during one of Bethany and Alaina's art time during school.
They were learning about the hot dog method of drawing people, where you draw a stick figure, and then give it a little more body.

The Lost Medallion
Sorry it has been so long since I posted everybody! I drew this picture of the lost medallion right after we watched the movie for the first time, which would be in...umm...July? So a pretty long time ago.

Prince Charming
I haven't been drawing a whole lot recently, so here is a drawing I did on November 3rd, 2012. (A long time ago) Have you ever hear of artists drawing things upside down and wondered, "Why on earth would you do that?" I used to think that, but then I read a drawing book and drew a few "upside-down" drawings. They are actually super fun.
By turning the picture that I was drawing from, upside down, I can do one of two things. Try to actually draw the picture upside down, or focus on the lines, spaces, and shadings that I see (which ends up creating the whole picture.). This is one of my "upside-down" drawings. I call it Prince Charming, just because it is a knight on a horse and that's the first thing that came to mind. A bit cliche, I know.

Tauriel
Hi girls,
So recently our family watched the newest Hobbit movie and I absolutely love the character Tauriel so I decided to try to draw her. There are a few flaws (she looks almost evil. x( and also her face is a little bit out of proportion) but overall I am pleased with the results so I decided to share it.

My First Post
Hi girls,
I drew this picture today and decided to post it. I want to preface this by saying that I am not very good at drawing. Mostly because I don't have much patience to sit down and do it. :) Plus I just don't have the natural talent as much as some people do. I do enjoy it from time to time, though. That said I probably won't post to much, but I am glad that I am able to sometimes.
Let me tell you a little bit about this picture. It is a drawing of a character from a series of books I have been reading called the Queen's Thief series, named Irene. She is the queen of a country called Attolia and this has made her a different person than she would have been otherwise. It is like she has this mask that is the cruel absolute ruler that her country needs to stay together and not break into civil war, but inside she really hates being cruel and wants to be kind. So I was trying to capture this moment where she is trying to change underneath the mask. Someone who loves her is trying to help her change and she is trying to show that she is trying to change. Someone just said something amusing to try to show love to her and she has one eyebrow raised and her lips almost in a smile, but not quite.
I would love some constructive criticism on this drawing. I think I made the eyes to small, but I liked the shape of them so I didn't try to redo them. I am not sure how to do eyelashes so any ideas on that? My sister Bethany (who is a lot better at drawing then I am) showed me how to do the raised eyebrow. I hadn't done it very well at first and she helped me change it. If you have any pointers on that or any other part of the drawing that could improve it please let me know. I didn't do any shading as I don't know how to do that very well, but all in all I think I captured a little bit of how I imagine this character so I am pretty happy with it.
Thanks!
Michaela

Mr. Bruce Kanegai
I don't know if any of you have heard of this man before, but I had the honor to meet him at a business meeting in California when I went with my parents to take care of Emmaline. At lunch, my grandparents and my parents invited a group of people to have lunch with us. Mom told Mr. Kanegai that I liked to draw and he gave me a basic lesson through lunch (I hardly ate because I was too distracted). The main thing he told me, that I wanted to share with all of you, my artist friends, was the enormous role 'contour' drawings play in the road to becoming a great artist.
A contour, is a drawing that you do from looking at real life objects (no pictures) and it is made up of ONE SINGLE LINE. Mr. Kanegai did this contour in about two minutes on plain notebook paper from his planner, with a cheap ballpoint pen.

I know this is not my work, but I wanted to share it with you. And I would like to put out another challenge:
Do a contour of your hand! Go slow, aim small, and just enjoy the fun drawing. (P.S. This one you don't have to post your results)

Playing Outside
One of the things that I like to draw is mice. I know some don't like them, but drawing them is so much fun and they can be cute.
Cute for the girls and handsome for the boys. :)

Out To Sea & See
I had this picture in my mind and wanted to try it on paper. Every month I draw a picture for my Papa. This is one of them.
I like drawing Medieval pictures. Could you all send me some so that I may draw them?

~Fall~ Pumpkins~
Here is the picture that I drew today for the pumpkin contest. I had so much fun designing it and getting input from my Mama and sisters.
We should do another theme soon, I like this one.
Enjoy!!
Get Set! GO!
Here is a picture that my Mama used to like to draw when she was younger, so she taught me how to do it and this is my attempt at it.
It reminds me of a flag at a Racetrack.

From What Was Lost
This is one of the pictures that I drew for the book that my sister Maria and I wrote together.
We named the horses, but if I tell, it will ruin the book for Nicole. Send me an email if you really want to know, or I'll send you the blog that Maria posts our books on, the book is called What Was Lost.
